Anchor Organization

Project South’s (PS) organizational mission is to work with communities pushed forward by the struggle – to strengthen leadership and to provide popular political and economic education for personal & social transformation.

PS’s values are rooted in its historical political assumptions:

Economy with Justice : Coming out of the Black Radical Tradition in the U.S. South, we support the liberation of working and under/unemployed communities over Ruling Class Oppression.
Black Liberation and the Liberation of all oppressed people : Our historical memory of the anti-colonial, anti-slavery roots of Black led liberation movements in the South, who at their strongest moments confronted white supremacy directly.

Gender Liberation: Binary gender assumptions are fundamental to imperialism, colonialism, and social control. The decolonization of gender identity, roles, expression, and sexual orientation is critical to building collective power and reclaiming body sovereignty.

Youth-led Organizing Committed to the liberation of youth, we are dedicated to fighting adultism in culturally respectful and politically radical ways.

Regional Movement Building : Rooted in decolonization & collective, community-based self determination, Project South builds liberated governance and spaces for transformative work.
