Greetings Project South family,
We are stronger together. We’ve seen this truth expressed in practice throughout the history of the Southern Freedom Movement. We feel it today during the Southern Movement Alliance’s Unite to Fight Summer Organizing Drive – including the Organizing Institute in June, the On the Road 10 city trip in July, & the week of actions to Free Marissa Alexander in Jacksonville. We will feel that same collective power on August 22nd and 23rd in Atlanta, Georgia, during Southern Movement Assembly IV (SMA IV)!

WHY: Join us as communities and organizations building movement to end violence, racism, and mass incarceration, to win environmental and climate justice, to encourage and win the demands of young people, and others discuss shared frontline struggles, develop shared strategies and action plans across frontlines, and experience the practice of participatory democracy in action!
Community and organizational delegations will roll into Atlanta on Thursday, August 21st, kick off the assembly on the morning of Friday, August 22nd, and wrap up on the evening of Saturday, August 23rd. We will also have a Children’s Assembly during SMA IV for young people ages 12 and under. Please let us know if you need support to travel, there are limited resources to ensure that all of us can come together.
